What’s coming up in 2024?
We are kicking off the new year with the announcement of our new 2024-25 placement gardens in February. We are very excited about this as we have some new gardens joining the programme this year who we are very much looking forward to working with.
The announcement of our new placement gardens will be followed by applications opening in March to apply to be a HGBTP trainee and we look forward to interviewing potential trainees in May. To sign up to receive an email notification of when applications open, click here.
Looking further ahead we will be meeting up with our current HBGTP trainees in July for the annual Study Tour. This allows trainees to meet and interact with other trainees and horticultural professionals, and also visit a wide range of gardens. To read more about our last Study Tour click here.
In August, we will be holding our prestigious Graduation Ceremony. This is usually held at Wrest Park in Bedfordshire and certificates of achievement are presented to the trainees by a VIP guest. This is a special moment for both the trainees and their supervisors, and the HBGTP team.
As one door closes, another one opens as we will be welcoming the next cohort of trainees to the programme in September. The new trainees will have the chance to meet each other, network and exchange ideas at the Trainee Seminar in the autumn.
