South Oxfordshire Study Tour
We recently took our 14 current HBGTP trainess on a weekend tour of spectacular gardens around South Oxfordshire. The study tour was kindly funded by The Royal Horticulture Society. The gardens visited included:
The sites included National Trust and privately-owned gardens, ranging from the unspoilt and un-commercialised garden at Rousham to one of the oldest botanic gardens in Britain at Oxford Botanic Garden.
Trainees had the opportunity to ask questions of Head Gardeners and garden guides, and to exchange ideas and information, as well as planning for their future careers.
A big thank you to all of the gardens staff who welcomed us and showed us around, and to the Kingswell Hotel in Didcot, for providing excellent hospitality.
