National Botanic Gardens of Wales
Location: Carmarthenshire, Wales
Trainees will have the opportunity to experience a wide and varied collection of plants, the main emphasis being the large collection of Mediterranean climate plants in the Great Glasshouse, and extensive ornamental herbaceous and shrub plantings in the wider Garden. Plant propagation/production of a broad species range, and amenity planting and management of same, machinery use, such as strimmer, mowers, leaf sucker, chipper, tractor.
Trainees spend 4 x 3month periods in different areas of the Garden ensuring the opportunity to gain a wide range of skills and experiences.
3 months probationary period. Accommodation on site (rent deducted from wage).
