Jenny Raffety – Smelling of Violets!

Jenny was our HBGBS trainee at Cambo in Scotland (2013-14). Jenny’s interest in alpines helped her to win the Alpine Specialist, a 1 year position at RHS Wisley. Jenny has now bagged a prize job at a fabulous specialist violet nursery (Wildegoose Nursery in Shropshire) where she will be looking after a heritage collection of the old Bouts Violos. The nursery won Gold medal at the RHS Malvern Show and Silver Gilt at Chelsea Flower Show this year.

Jenny says: “The old Bouts Viola collection consists of hardy perennial and scented violas. The nursery was at Chelsea this year and Monty Don did a spotlight piece on them. It was great publicity for them. I’m so looking forward to it!”
