Joint Trainee Seminar held with PGG

Our new HBGTP trainees recently spent a weekend visiting gardens in Sussex and attending lectures and workshops with fellow trainees from the MacRobert Trust and the PGG.

Activities included a public speaking masterclass, a quiz, and an experts panel discussion. Many thanks to the Gardens teams at Wakehurst Place, West Dean and Woolbeding for hosting visits.

At Wakehurst, the trainees were given a tour of the seed bank and nursery areas, led by Director Ed Ikin. Tours of Woolbeding and West Dean were led, respectively, by Head Gardeners Paul Gallivan and Tom Brown. At all gardens, the trainees saw new planting and gained insight into the thinking behind it.
